Dr. Jehron Pillay

Dr. Pillay qualified from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005. Prior to specialising in Cardiothoracic Surgery, he trained in general surgery and has experience in trauma and critical care.
His key areas of expertise include aortic, coronary and valvular surgery as well as major surgeries of the lungs, oesophagus, diaphragm and chest wall.
Dr Pillay is actively involved in research and development in his field and works closely in association with the European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the University of the Free State.
He has specific interests in educational development for Cardiothoracic Surgery, Simulation, Surgery for heart failure, Surgery for drug resistant tuberculosis, and is passionate about community health.
Carla Pillay - Perfusionist
BTECH, Clinical Technology, Cardiovascular Perfusionist (CUT)
Carla Pillay is a cardiovascular perfusionist.She graduated cum laude from the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein. She has worked in various units in South Africa, including Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, as well as the private sector in Port Elizabeth.
Her specialities encompass all forms of adult and pediatric open heart surgery, as well as specific procedures in neuro, orthopedic and general surgeries. She also has experience in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and has been integral to the successful setup of the service at Busamed Hillcrest Private Hospital.
